Back when Lily Munchkin was here in December, we made Valentine hearts and Easter bunnies. I spent my time making sure she finished her bunny, which she painted blue and dressed in a pink tutu, so I didn't get to finish my bunny until recently.
I started with a styrofoam egg for the body and ball for the head and covered both in paperclay. After the paperclay dried, I painted her a soft beige color and added pink in the ears and a little pink nose.
Then I coated her with pearl paint to give a nice opalescent sheen. I added the eyes and mouth with a dark gray permanent marker.
Now she needed some accessories. I added a ruffled crepe paper color, a tiny paper primrose, and a lace bow. Since I didn't think ahead and give her big floppy feet, she needed to stand on something, so I bought a paper mache box at Hobby Lobby and decorated it with vintage wallpaper, glitter, and trims.
I made Easter grass by inking a vintage book page, cutting into thin strips, and crinkling. The glittered eggs are from a craft pick from Michael's. I also tucked a few flowers here and there among the eggs.
I added a Happy Easter greeting to the box's base and she was ready for display.
So, so sweet, Erica!
