Lily's Baptism

I FINALLY made a layout. I bought some new beautiful Bo Bunny papers for a layout of my niece's baptism.

None of my photos of the baptism came out too well. This one was the best and is completely overexposed. I did some technical adjustments and decided that the brightness added to the ethereal feeling of the occasion.

After layering the patterned papers, I created a paper and lace ruffle for the right side. I found all the "baptism" entries from one of my old dictionaries and found a perfect page from an old hymnal since she was baptized while watching the ocean waves.

Layers of fluffy vintage and Prima flowers accent the photo along with a few paper butterflies.

My Valentine

I enjoy crafting for holidays. I think because it gives me a reason to make something. And, I really enjoy decorating for each holiday, so I get a chance to display what I've made. Right now, I'm getting ready for Valentine's Day. I made this embellished heart. It reminds me of the vintage candy boxes that are so beautiful.

I don't know what I'll do with it yet. I might make it into a card. Or, I may try to find a box to adhere it to and make my own vintage candy box. Then I can fill it with candy and have two treats in one! :)

I cut out a heart from a piece of vintage fabric and stitched it to a heart cut from sheet music. Then I stitched a crepe paper ruffle and adhered it to the back of the sheet music heart.

I then adhered the heart to a large pink doily and began embellishing. The flowers are mostly Prima with a few others I have in my stash. The "my love" sticker is an old Rusty Pickle sticker from my stash. I added glitter around the sticker ('cause everything looks better with glitter). I added a new Maya Road heart stick pin and tied on some baker's twine to bring out the touches of light turquoise in the flowers.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday. I am fortunate enough to be spending it with her in NJ. Here is the card I made for her special day.

I used some festive patterned paper scraps and a die cut swirl and journaling spot for all the patterns. I added vintage crochet trim, flowers, and Cosmo Cricket alphas.

Here is a closeup of some of the details.

I also made this altered bread board to hang in her kitchen.

I used Webster's Pages papers, a page from an old cookbook, vintage doily and crochet trim, and little silverware what-nots. I cut out the images and layered them pop-dots for added dimension.

I tied on some matching ribbon and she's ready to be displayed.
