Beautiful Witches Swap

Back on this post, I showed you my Gothic arches for the Vintage Dragonfly's swap. Here are the arches I received, bundled in a little mini book just in time for Halloween.

This stunning arch used for the cover was made by Lisa McMillin:

The Beauty in Blue is from Karla:

The Purple Queen is from Flutter Before You:

And this bewitching beauty is from Kimberly Laws:

And this one is from our hostess JoAnne:

And lastly, this sparkling gem is from Heya_Cupcake:

What a fabulous swap! I can't wait to see what JoAnne has in store for us next!

Faded Lady

I was playing with some image transfer techniques for a few projects I'm trying to work on, and hopefully complete at some point.

This transfer did not come out perfectly, but I liked the faded/aged look.

I started with a chipboard base that I covered in old ledger paper. Then I layered an old handkerchief under the image that I transferred onto fabric. Lace trim, old tattered tulle, and some bling top her off. I sewed a crepe paper ruffle and inked the edges before adhering around the edge.

Class Sneak Peek

I'll be teaching at the Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie again this summer - either late June or early July. I'm still working on my class sample, but here is a little sneak peek.

Happy Spring

Back on this post, I shared the projects I made for a Spring Art Swap with a couple of friends. Here are the projects I received from these two talented ladies.

First up is my friend Julie. She made this fabulous altered Spring banner. On the back is a spring poem to inspire me. I love the colors and all the little bits and bobs she embellished it with. I have it on display in my entry with my spring and Easter projects.

Next up is Diana, who made this stunning altered canvas for me. I love the colors and the layers she applied. I'm hoping to get a beautiful spring photo of my niece to place on it.

Here's a close-up of some of the embellishments.

Thanks ladies for another great swap!! I truly love what you made for me.

We Play

I made this collage about a month ago, hung her on the wall, and then forgot about her. Poor Sally Ann.

For the base, I used a page from an old cabinet card album. I printed out the photo of this little cutie to fit the opening, and then scoured my old children's books for inspiration. I came upon the story "We Play," and little Miss Sally Ann Harris was born.

I added the book text around the photo and then embellished with antique lace and trim, flowers, and some bling.

This old trim with the wide pink border was so perfect for adding a little name plate to my collage. I have some left over that I'll use to make a cuff bracelet.
