Jewelry Soldering

I have been wanting to learn how to solder jewelry pendants for a while. I finally found a class and took it earlier this month. Our delightful teacher Trisha and her trusty assistant/husband Andy were fabulous. We each made three pendants while we learned the techniques. Here are the charms that I made:

and the backs:

The Snow Angel is an image that I brought with me (the others were supplied by Trisha). I bought it from Lisa's Altered Art on one of her $1 Wednesday sales. I'm planning to use the Alice charm on an altered book that I want to make (someday). The little bird collage just made me happy. It was fate that I pulled out a page from an old hymnal to use the sheet music. Then I noticed that the title had both "Wonder" and "Dream" - just perfect for my charms!

Trisha warned us all that this is addicting. I am gathering my tools and supplies so I can make more. She's teaching this class again, and the next advanced class on March 27 at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, TX. If you can get there, it's worth the drive. Great store and Trisha is just so warm and friendly - you'll love her immediately!

Beautiful! I love the Alice in Wonderland one! Great idea, I bought a soldering tool, now just need to sit down and figure out how to use it!

PS- and thanks for confirming that I have a shoe collection and now I just need to add to it! I have so many different collections going on, I did think twice about this one, but how can I not collect more shoes so these babies don't get lonely??? I have a beautiful glass fronted cabinet in my kitchen and the shoes have a very lovely home in there. So wishing I could wear them though!!!

absolutely lovely! Can you believe that I still have all of my supplies from a kit for soldering and still have not opened any of it.....it has been 5 years since I purchased it. You have me wanting to break into my kit and get started! When purchasing the kit I was in the middle of silversmithing classes....so kind of put it off. Love the Alice one...absolutely darling!
