December 8
Day 8 of the Countdown to Christmas! Here is the matchbox I made:
This is the matchbox I received, made by Shawnee Halligan. Isn't the tuxedo so clever? And that crystal snowflake makes a beautifully sparkly addition to my tree. I may need to turn it into a bracelet charm.
And a peek at the gift inside:

My Christmas cards went out last week, so now I can share what I made. I wanted to make something completely different this year, and make an assembly line so I could get them all done in time. I also wanted a flat card that could be mailed by regular postage.
The base is quilt batting. I layered a piece of vintage sheet music and an old postcard print on top. I stitched a border in the sheet music and the batting.
I created the "tw*nkle" on my computer, printed, cut out, and adhered it below the image. Then I sprinkled some mica flakes here and there for a vintage sparkle. I hope it spreads some Christmas cheer to all our friends and family!
