Azalea Trail

We drove out to Tyler, TX this past weekend to catch the tail end of the Azalea Trail. The town is full of old, beautiful homes with even more beautiful gardens. We plan to go earlier in the season next year and catch the dogwoods blooming, too. Many of the azaleas were already done blooming, but I managed to get a few pics of some lovely gardens.

This is a newer house, but it has that plantation style that I love. The perfectly manicured gardens were so elegant.

One of my favorite views. We stopped to take a photo of the cottage next door, and I looked up the hill and saw all these lovely azaleas.

During the weeks of the Azalea Trail, dozens of "Azalea Belles" adorn the gardens and lawns of participating homes.

The next photos are from the house that won "Best Landscaping." This house would have the best landscaping ANYWHERE. Beautiful alcoves, gardens, statuary, lawns, and a greenhouse. The surprise in the very back arbor was a violinist playing to enliven all our senses!

We will definitely be back for more!

Oh, what fun! What a gorgeous setting. Love these houses and their beautiful yards. I try and try, but I just can't garden. ;)

I was amazed that this town had so many old homes and in this setting. If Tyler was close, we could live there.

Oh my word! Next year I'm coming with ya! Wow! And today I woke up to five fresh inches of snow... I had my Easter Egg Hunt this morning, I hid 2500 eggs in the snow! I really would rather have been enjoying your azalea tour!

Have a great weekend!
