Designer of the Month!

I finally have my new craft room finished, but now I need to get all of my supplies out of storage and loaded into the new space. I'm hoping to be ready for Christmas crafting soon!

This month, I was selected as the Cards magazine Designer of the Month! I was so surprised and honored to be chosen. Here are a couple of images from the magazine.

Cards magazine is no longer available in a print version, as Northridge has changed all of their publications to digital only. You can order digital editions of all of their magazines on the Northridge Publishing website. I'd love to have a stack of this issue sitting in my craft room! :)

Catching Up

I had a couple of projects that were recently published that I can share with you now.

From the September Cards magazine, An Apple for the Teacher:

I used a collage of patterned paper scraps with a vintage dress pattern girl. She was perfect for the back-to-school theme.

From the October Scrapbook Trends, Nevermore:

This card is a "dressed up" version of the cards I made for Halloween last year. I used a variety of patterned papers in orange and black. The crow stamp is from Stamper's Anonymous. I stamped him on a page from a vintage dictionary.

I have a favorite on page 32 : )

Think Spring

We have definitely had our share of April showers, but I can't complain after the drought we had last year. Everything is green and blooming right now, and it looks beautiful.

Here is a spring card I had published in the recent March issue of Cards magazine.

I used papers from Sassafras, The Paper Studio, and The Girls Paperie, some old trim, and Thickers to create this card.

And because we were thinking spring, we spent another day at another local garden. We headed out to Weatherford, TX to visit Chandor Gardens. It was a nice drive and a beautiful garden.

The home was built in the early 1930s. It took the owner 16 years to create the gardens.

They include several fountains, ponds,

and two waterfalls.

Then their heirs left the place vacant and abandoned for nearly 20 years.

Then a new owner brought everything back to its grandeur and opened the gardens to the public.

You can also rent the house and gardens for events and weddings. Wouldn't a bride look beautiful posing with this fountain, or in front of the waterfall, or by the butterfly garden...

School Girl

I can finally share the card I had published in the September CARDS magazine.

I used patterned paper and crochet trim from Graphic 45. The other papers are vintage. I added an Elle's Studio journaling square, an apple button, and other trims. The focal point is the darling school girl, cut from a vintage sewing pattern envelope. I used 3D adhesive to adhere her on top of all the layers.

Back to School

I just received my September issue of Cards magazine. There's a card on page 108 that I'm quite fond of :)

This card was inspired by my friend Julie's love of vintage pattern girls.
